mental health bloggers to follow going into the new year
Social media can be a very toxic place, it becomes easy to compare ourselves and our lives to those that we see online. It can be hard to love our appearance as we don’t tend to see ourselves the way that others see us and sometimes we need to have people to remind us we are beautiful as we are and that we don’t need to change to fit into anybody else’s standards. In this post I am going to be sharing some of my favourite body positive and mental health accounts that I think you should follow going into the new year!
One of my all time favourite body positive ladies. Her posts are so important and she is so honest about her mental health struggles. When I was first in the process of recovery I found her account and could relate to so much of it. I found (still find) her content so helpful, especially when I am having a down day as she is hilarious! She is also just a genuinely lovely person.
I have followed Grace for so many years. She was one of the very first influencers I followed when I was at school. It has been lovely to see her confidence grow over the years. She speaks her mind and I find her very inspirational. I know she is going through a difficult time right now so sending love to her and her family.
I have always said that I wish there were more males speaking openly about their mental health struggles, especially when it comes to eating disorders as it can help to end the misconception that eating disorders are a “female disorder.” Nik is very vocal about his struggle with his eating disorder and i think he is so brave for doing so. I love his account a lot.
My biggest insecurity has always been my hip dips. From a young age I really disliked them. I found the account @_nelly_london and it started to make me feel more positive to the part of me which I have always disliked. Seeing her looking beautiful in all these lovely outfits made me think that I don’t need to hide my hip dips and that I can wear nice outfits too.
Im sure many of you will already know Megan. She is a body positive lady who is not scared to speak her mind on a variety of important conversations. I bought her book at the start of my recovery journey and it really helped me to look at how society has made us hate our bodies to profit from it and helped me to change the way I thought about my body. I would highly recommend following her and also buying her book, if it is something that interests you.
A lovely lady who’s account I recently found. She is a mental health advocate who makes really important content and you can tell she puts time into it as her captions are always so well written.
I found Alice’s account quite recently and I love it! It is filled with posts to help you along your body confidence journey and is also very aesthetic with its pastel colouring. She used to be a blogger who spoke about diets but has completely changed to an anti diet culture blogger with very positive posts.
I love this account! I found Katie’s account on my explore feed and shared her content to my story. Every time she uploads one of her illustrations I find myself wanting to share it. All of her posts look lovely but more importantly they all discuss issues that need to be talked about more openly.
I hope this post has encouraged you to check out these influencers content and hopefully you will love them all as much as I do.
